Tangential Flow Filtration
The updated KrosFlo Research IIi tangential flow filtration system is suitable for R&D-scale microfiltration and ultrafiltration processing. It comes with a digital pressure monitor integrated into the peristaltic pump, and both are controlled by the same PLC/HMI. The pump head handles flow rates from 0.01 mL/min to 2.3 LPM, and the unit now has a smaller footprint on the bench. The digital pressure monitor has a digital LCD display with LED backlight. Four pressure measurements are displayed including feed, retentate, permeate, and transmembrane pressure. The system has both audible and visual low- and high-pressure alarms for the inlet and permeate, and a high-pressure pump shutoff that helps maintain membrane integrity and achieve high product recovery. The KFComm data-collection software included with the system interfaces with a computer to download real-time process data to an Excel file.
