Evotec OAI AG and Oxford Bioscience Partners (OBP), have expanded their 2002 agreement by integrating Evotec OAI's newly established rational drug design platform, EVOrational. Evotec OAI has recently built up its EVOrationale™ platform consisting of protein engineering and production, X-ray crystallography and computational chemistry to assist their customers in delivering de novo structure determination, validation of screening hits and structure guided lead optimization programs.

Sigma-RBI, a division of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, has announced the introduction of its new 2004-2005 Cell Signaling & Neuroscience catalog, featuring over 6,000 products organized by area of interest, including over 1,000 new products. The catalog also contains a variety of cell signaling pathway schematics and is rich with technical product information, including literature references and chemical structures.

Cellomics announced that Roche
(Nutley, NJ) has successfully deployed the integrated solution of Cellomics Store, its enterprise class database for High Content Screening (HCS), with EMC Corporation’s Centera content addressed storage (CAS) system.
The integration of Cellomics® Store with EMC Centera CAS storage (a storage archive platform for digital fixed content) provides Roche with a best-in-class software and hardware solution for the management, storage, analysis, and archival of cellular image data, enabling scientists to more effectively create, manage, and analyze high content screening experiments, cellular image data, as well as discover relationships for potential targets, lead compounds, and genes.

Norak Biosciences and SCYNEXIS have entered into a research collaboration to discover and develop novel pharmaceutical compounds. Under the agreement, Norak has transferred to SCYNEXIS certain active compounds from Norak's proprietary Transfluor(R) screening exercise of its chemical libraries against its novel desensitization targets. These will add to Norak's internal drug discovery pipeline, and provides access by Norak to a SCYNEXIS research unit which includes MEDCHEM-FACTORY(TM) technology, HEOS(R) Hit Explorer Operating System software and medicinal chemistry expertise.

Genedata announced that they entered into a collaboration and licensing agreement with Schering AG for the Genedata Screener TM AssayAnalyzer software earlier this year. The software module is in productive use at Schering’s Screening and Assay Development department. This agreement expands the established collaboration between Schering and Genedata in genomics-based drug discovery.

Ardais Corporation, a leading provider of clinical data and biomaterials resources for molecular medicine-based drug discovery and development, announced that it has expanded its collaborative agreement with Aventis to assess the potential of certain biological targets in the pharmaceutical company’s R&D pipeline. Under the expanded agreement, Ardais will combine the resources of its Biomaterials and Information for Genomic Research (BIGR®) Library of high quality tissues and associated patient data with its immunohistochemistry (IHC) profiling to optimize validation assays and assist in the characterization of each target in panels of normal and diseased human tissues.
