11/25/03 -Tranzyme and NeoGenesis Have expanded their collaboration to include additional genes of therapeutic interest and will utilize Tranzyme's TExT™ in support of the chemical genomics program at
NeoGenesis. NeoGenesis will provide additional sets of disease-associated gene sequences of therapeutic interest. Tranzyme will deliver these genes into different mammalian cell lines and express the proteins using its protein expression technology
(TExT™). NeoGenesis will deploy the purified proteins in ALI (Automated Ligand Identification System), their ultra-HTS platform.
11/19/03 - ExonHit Therapeutics Announced that
Allergan, a global specialty pharmaceutical company, has initiated HTS on a target generated pursuant to a 10 month old strategic alliance between the companies. ExonHit is a privately held company that discovers neurodegenerative and cancer therapeutics and diagnostics based on alternative RNA splicing.
11/11/03 - MDL Has released
MDL® Plate Manager, for tracking, sorting, and managing plate and sample information. A request queue aids in anticipating material demand, prioritizing orders and predicting workflows, resolving supply chain bottlenecks. The system ensures sample quality and reduces retesting by accurately tracking both freeze/thaw cycles and shelf life.
11/11/03 - Tecan Is co-operating with Corning to offer an automation solution for plate sealing, unsealing and resealing 96- and 384-well microplates. The system combines Corning®'s Robolid™, a microplate seal that incorporates a silicone capmat into a standard polystyrene plate lid, with Tecan's
Te-Lidder, an accessory designed for utilizing the Robolid technology on Tecan Workstations and TRAC Robotic Systems.
11/3/03 - Dharmacon/Akceli Announced a research collaboration to study the utility of combining two technologies:
siRNA-mediated gene silencing and whole-well reverse transfection. The companies believe that the combination of these technologies could to advance high-throughput cell-based gene function analysis, target validation and drug discovery.
11/3/03 - Peakdale Molecular/De Novo Pharmaceuticals Announced significant results six months into their strategic alliance to design and supply novel compounds, specifically targeted towards the discovery of new molecules active at GPCRs. As a result of the collaboration, a variety of family based extended pharmacophores have been developed, using QUASI2™, for sub-families of the GPCR class of biological targets.
