development and biological screening collaboration with
Seikagaku Corporation on an undisclosed target.

Fisher Scientific to Buy Perbio Science for $714 Million.
6/25/2003 - Evotec OAI
Evotec OAI and Axxima Pharmaceuticals AG announced a
medicinal chemistry agreement to design and synthesis small
molecule lead structures for one of Axxima's leading kinase
targets. Under the agreement Evotec OAI will apply its
integrated medicinal chemistry platform to optimize initial
screening hits already identified by Axxima towards
candidates for clinical trials.
6/24/03 - Caliper Technologies
Caliper Technologies Announced that Aventis, has purchased
the Caliper 250 drug discovery system to develop a series of
kinase screening assays using existing LabChip®
applications with the potential to develop customized assays
and chips. The Caliper 250 system is an integrated,
automated drug discovery platform based on Caliper's
proprietary microfluidic LabChip technology.

Eyes Robotics to Hasten Drug Discovery. Believes robotics
can help succeed where the industry's men in white coats are
struggling by installing new robotics technology at a plant
near Madrid, Spain. Will vastly increase the number of drugs
it can screen against several diseases simultaneously.

Institutes for BioMedical Research
Significantly Expand Functional Genomics Collaboration
in Anti-infectives Research. Genedata, a specialist for
scientifically validated software systems, will provide NIBR
with a license to PathoLead, a specialized computational
solution for anti-infective drug discovery, and consulting
services.

Avantium Technologies BV has developed a technology for
the rapid optimization of product purification. The
technology, Avantium’s Crystallization Screening System
(CRYSS), is offered as a contract research service to the
pharmaceutical, biotech and fine-chemical industry. CRYSS
was developed in response to the pharmaceutical industry’s
need for the fast, cost efficient removal of impurities
during the manufacture of intermediates or product.
